(From "The Colonist/ Sept. 22nd.) A social gathering of the Nelson Girls' College Old Girls' Association was hold last night in honour of Miss Howe who has so successfully filled the position of secretary. which «he lias now relinquished on account of her approaching departure for ]?7ji. There was an attendance of about fifty, and the time was passed pleasantly with competitions and other diversions. In a graceful speech, Miss Lorimer, principal of the College, made appreciative reference to the.guest, of the evening. She said that Miss* Howe did well at College, -matriculating, before she left Afterwards she had been associated with -various kinds of voluntary < and disinterested work in the city—as a bunday school teacher, as a hospital visitor, and as a member of the Harmonic Society. Altogether she had been a very good citizen. As secretary of the N.G.C.O.G.A. she hafl done a great deal in keeping the past pupiLs of the College together, and she had helped very much at their meetings and social gatherings. Miss Lorimer, on behalf of the association, presented Miss Kowo with a handsome entree dish and a framed photograph of the College Miss Roive was also handed a bouquet or ireesias, tied with the College colours. The presentations were ar-com-pamed by musical honours and cheers.
