"Alfred John Green was charged with failing to render. personal .service, under the Defence Act by being absent from parade on August 30th. : Defendant wrote stating that he had been called -tip.and- was going into camp. He was- out of Nelson on the date mentioned in the information.
Oaptain Burn said, the defendant's parade record was not a good one.
Defendant was convicted ana * fined: ss, with costs 7s. James Peychers, similarly charged, did not appear. Captain Burn said defendant had not done any*training during the present! military year, hut he had attended! fairly-well-last year. Defendant was convicted and fined 10a, with costs 7s. •
