London, May 15. An Italian official message says: An intense artillery duel is proceeding between Tolmino and the sea. Our raids led to considerable progress on the slopes of Monte Cucco and the hills eastward of Gorz, and also at Vertobizza.

We simultaneously advanced in the northern sector of the Carso, and reached the lines eastward of Dossofaite.
