Violent artillery activity continues on the Prench front. Counter-attacks in Champagne were repulsed with sanguinary losses. The British have made further progress on the Scarpe and north-east of Loos. The list of German crimes has been extended by the sinking of two hospital ships in the Channel. One was conveying a large number of German wounded, who displayed despicable cowardice. Seventy-nine are missiug from both ships, The industrial chaos in Germany is spreading, The Greek situation is again serious.
The cable news in this issue accredited to "The Times" has appealed in that journal, but only where escpressly stated is such news the editorial «j,uciGn of "The Times."
