THE BEREAVED.
ME ALLEN'S MESSAGE
The following message was sent out by the Hon. .James Allen,' Minister o£ Defence:-—"Last year;; it-was possible to send a message to each of the next-of-kin of those, soldiers, sailors, and curses who had given up their Ikes for their country's cause. I would that a, similar message could,be sent this, yean to all who have siiifered joss. The dif-t faculties in the = way .of doing so, are, however,-flo very great that I am impelled to Jnvite the assistance of the press in conveying to those in bereavement sympathy with them ir. their grief. I do believe that comfort will come to us in the assurance that those V?e miss especially at this time have given all they had to give for their fel-low-countrymen and that the 'memory of their sacrifice a!bides with us for our consolation and satisfaction."
