August, S. Asocial was held in the schoolroom on Friday, 23th ultimo, for the purpose of bidding farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coioman, who were leavino- for Wakeriekl. Mr. L. H. Palmer, chairn:an of tho School Committee, jjresided, and parent.-; and friends from this and surrounding districts present. the evening . Mr. and'Mrs'. C'okni.-;n were presented witli a pair of !i;'n<:soine chairs, a rug, and a" silver .service suitably inscribed. Mr. Palmer, in making the presentation on behalf of the residents,-referred to the work of Mr. Coleman in the school and uistrit-t for the past 16 years, and to the cordial relations that had always existed between their teacher and the School Committee. He expressed their sprr.-,u at losing Mr. and Mrs. Colei»;an from the district, at the same time wishing, them every success in t'loir new home. * "
