ROAD BOARD.

SUBURBAN NORTH

The usual monthly meeting of the Suburban North Road Board was held on Friday last.. Present:—Messrs W.j H. Alborough (chairman), A. Dodson,A. Stagg, E ,W. Frost, B. F. Woller, and J. Corder. Accounts wcxe passed for payment amounting to £52 5s 7d. « The Over&ecr reported thait all the district roads had been very nyucn. damaged by .the last flood, especially Cable Bay road and the Teal road which' was blocked by slips. He had to put-' five men on to clear the Gajble road of • slips. He. tyjjs getting tho ofhor roa*ds cleared as fast as he could get the daymen to do the work that was re • j quired. Hs had called for tenders for' gravelling on tho Lud road from Mr* "Waterbouse's. • Abridge oh tlie Lud road required renewing. Ho reconi-j mended the Boaa'd to put. in a cement j one. Frost £1 per * chain; David Anderson 19s (accepted). » I JMr Dencker called the attention of the Board to the river encroachment' on the road at Wangaraoa. . Correspondence '.ras received from the Siiperinteiident &t Cable Bay in-' forming the Over seer that several slips had, ' Occurred on the Cable Bay road." ! Resolutions were passed as follows:— (1) That the Overseer have a new pipe culvert put in at the entrance to the Lnd road. .(2) That Mr D. Anderson's tender for gravelling, be, accepted at 19s per chain, (3) That the Overseer inspect the lower, portion of the Wangamoa Valley road where the river is encroachins; on the road, and report at next meeting of the Board. (4) That future meetings of the Board 'be held at 7:30.p.m. „
