In consequence of the boisterous weaithcr, • the departure of. the Anchor Company's steamer Kaitoa, which -was to have sailed for Wellington at 11 p.m. on Saturday, was postponed, snd she left at 9 o'clock yesterday mornins. Tiie Nik.-ra Toft Wellington on Saturday afternoon, as usual, and arrived bore yesterday at 3 a.m., after a 13----honr passage. Sho reported only a moderate sea in Cook Strait. "

Advice wa-s revived from the West Coast yesterday that the heavy floods in the "rivers at Groymouth iand Westport were rapidly subsiding, and that it was likely that both ports would be workable this morning.
