REPRESENTATION ON THE BOARD.
Mr. Harley pointed out that out of eight ir. embers on the Board, Cr. Macmahon was the only one who represented a contributing authority. He thought the local bodies who contributed should have control of the expenditure. (Hear, hear.) It was the fault of the contributing bodies that they were not represented, but to get over the difficulty he moved: Tha& the contributing local . authorities should take steps to ensure at future elections that members of such local authorities were nominated for election, and that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to each contributing body. .
Cr. Mercer seconded the motion. He said all the City Council did was to pay the levy demanded by the Board.
The motion was supported by Messrs. Simpson and Hunt and Cr Macmahon, and carried unanimously.
On Cr. Macmahon's ncotion it was resolved that districts where there are two or more members should he divided into wards.
