RIOTS AT COLOGNE,

WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRED ON.

Amsterdam, July 2. 'Women, and children paraded at Cologne ok June 24th, asking for bread or peace. .The soldiers were ordered to shoot, but refused. The police and gendarmerie then fired, killing and wounding

many.

Thereupon the soldiers fired upon the police, wounding eighteen.

All traffic from Cologne was stopped until the middle of the following week.
