GERMAN REPORTS.
Amsterdam, April 16. A German communique says:— "There was violent mine firing and artillery work on both banks or La Bassee Canal. "Our mine destroyed GO yards of the British positions at Vermilles. "Violent fighting developed eastward of the -Mouse on Saturday evening on the front between the fortress of Douaumout and the ravine of Vaux. The French, after strong artillery preparation, attacked with considerable force, but v/ere repulsed with 'heavy losses."
