A-CALM NIGHT AT VERDUN. ABORTIVE GERMAN ATTACK. (Received April 14, 7.15 p.m.) Paris, April 13. A communique soys:— "The night was calm at Verdun. "A German attack was prepared at ( duak yesterday against Hill 304, but the enemy were unable even to leave their trenches. Our curtain fire and enfilading fire on German columns assembled at. Malancourt Wood rendered the operation abortive."
