GENERAL LABOURERS' AWARD
WAR BOJS'US GRANTED.

Following on a recent pronouncement by the Arbitration Court, tho award in the general labourers' dispute ("Wangaraii-,. Napier, and Hastings district)) ■hied to-day contains the following, clause under the heading of wages:—•
•\So long as the British Empire remains in a state of war with Gennnny, and, Austria or either of thorn, and for throe months after tho cessation of such war, there shall be paid to all workers within the scope of the a»vanl. in addition to tho rates above mentioned a war bor;us of 10 per oont. upon such rates." Another clause reads-: ''Notwithstanding the foregoirg clause tlie war bonus may at any timeduring the currency of tlio .a. ward bo continued either wholly or partially, or nay be ny'reasßd or terminated as tho Court on the application of any party to tho award or of its own motion determine. Provision i-s made for the exemption oi tunneimen and timbernien for whom :i special rate of Is fid per hour is fixed
