DEATH OF MISS I. -RHODES

Miss lanthe Rhodes, 12 years o£ age, \vha sustained severe injuries tt> one of her legs as the result of a collision between xi motor car r in which.1 she was riding, and a train at the Richmond crossing last Monday week, died at Nurse Field's nursing;' home, Richmond, at 8.30 o'clock yesterday, morning. It will bo remembered, that, the car, which was proceeding to Motueka with several passengers, struck the> engine of a train which was drawing into the Richmond station. Th.o occupants of' the car were thrown out on to tlie road by the violence of the impact, but Miss Rhodes, who was -% daughter of Mr L. G. Rhodes, of Motueka, was the only person who wsis seriously injured.

An inquest was opened by Mr J. S. Evans. Coroner, and after formal evidence as to th© identification of the body, was adjourned until Monday, February 7th.
