Sir E. W. Essex, speaking in the House of Commons, safiid he hoped the prohibition, of the import of paper pulp would not operate adversely against newspapers which had not their own means of supply.

Mr.' Runciman. said all the arrangements would be on an equitable line which would not give an unfair privilege to anybody.

Lord Robert Cecil, in reply to a question, said the Government had concluded contracts for the purchase of Roumanian grain, which would be held at the Government's disposal for export after the war.
