THE GERMAN BUDGET.
BITTER DISCUSSION OVER
NEW TAXES
London, Jan. 23
Reports from Amsterdam state that the new taxes are being bitterly discussed in Germany. The Socialists demand the seizure of war profits, while the Liberals complain of the folly of loading the people with new burdens while the national unity is endangered.
The "Cologne Gazette" and tlm "Volfcs Zeitung" say that a few hundred million marks more of indebtedness does not matter. The people willaccept any amount of taxation.
