A ladies' six-a-side hockey tomrnament was- held at Takaka yesterday in aid of the Sick and Wounded) Soldiers' Fond. The Wakatu (NaW.Wn) team were,the winners, the reaid** feiag as follows:— First round: Wakatu l h v. Rival A0; Golden Bay A 2, v. 0; Golden Bay B 2, v. RJvals B 0. Semi-final: Wakatu J,..v-.. The Nelson Men's Lawn Tennis Club has deemed it advisable to disband. Out of 34 members who1 played last soason, only eight are at present in town wme having left the city on -transfer but the majority having enlisted and gone to the-- fiont. The following are th*> names of some of the members wlit> arc serving thoir country:—Alan Find' lay, P. J. Bernott, H. L. Hollyinan, R. Everett. P. Boycs, snd A. W Parkinson. Several others have not yet been called u-o. - Mr Ala-i Findlav has gained thei Distinguished Service Medal.
