CONCERT AT TAHUNA.
_ A successful concert for the reduction of tho debt, on St. Stephen's Anglican Church was given on" Wednesday night in tho Public Hall at T.ahuna by Mr John Tait's Ladies' Choir, from .Nelson, Tho hall was, well filled with an appreciative audience, who insisted on recalling almti ;f «vory item on the programme., The performers includiKl Misses Zilla- Kerr, Mina- Kerr, Gliuly Bislev, Dodcl«, Jean Maa-tin, Kearns. i\r-d Langbein, and Mr'aud. Mrs Tait Mr Tait acted as conductor-accompanist throughout. Mr Edrjdge introduced' tho choir, and at the close- thanked the members in the name of the audience for their excellent entertainment.
A successful .concert in aid of.the 11-ed Cross Fund was given hi.St. John's Hall on Saturday evening _by Miss Hornsby's pupils, assisted by Mr A. G. Thompson. Pianoforte wero contributed by Misses Q. Saxton, .'. Ross, D. Snodgrass, J. Simpson, E Ri'gg-Wither, M. Terriss, and Mr. A. Thomson, pianoforte . duets by Misses Simpson and BatcKelor, and Masters Wood and Whelan, -pianoforte trio by Misses Airey, Mcllvridge, and Winterburn, piano" concerto (Mendqlssohn) by iMissHornsby and Mr Thomson, songs by Miss J. "M. Hornsby, Mr A. G. Thompson, and Masters C. and D. Terris. Other items on tho programme v.-ore part songs by pupils, and physical culture displays by Miss (-reenwood's Cabragh House pupils. The audience wan most appreciative, nnd a number of tho performers showed much promise.
