WELLINGTON FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKET.

Thompson Bros., Ltd., report as follows on the Wellington fruit and produce market:— Values for choice apples and pears of every variety aro firm, and in some instances advanced as compared with last week's prices. Sydney fruits came forward in larger quantity this week, with values lower than those recently ruling. A transhipment of Island oranges and bannnas also came to hand, and sold readily. Quito a largo number of ripe and overripe pears are com-' ing to hand from Canterbury, Nelson, and M-otneka, and arc in consequence realising poor values. Choice, firm Winter Colo, Winter Nelis, and Josephine pears are in better demand. Green Vicar of Winkfield are- wanted. Choice dessert and conking apples aro wanted, including Stunner.

Messrs Burbidge and Son report as follows on the Wellington fruit and produce market:—

We report a good demand and fair values realised for good large apples, both dessert and cocking, and especially the latter. Smaller varieties are lower in value. Pears, both dessert and cooking, are scarce, and sell freely, good dessert roalisirg high ' values. Walnuts are scarce. Potatoes have taken a decided rise, and we think they will go still higher. Fresh eggs sell freely, with preserved dull of sale.
