Tho entertainment given at the Empire Theatre last evening was greatly enjoyed by tho large audience present.-To-night there will be a complete change of bill, find "the star feature will be a 3000 ft' llecla production, written and directed by the popular author, Mr Max Pembertori. entitled "Kronstadt." Thus i<; the s'ory of a, young girl employed in the international secret service. She becomes a governess in the home of General btefanovkdi, deputy governor of the fortress of Kronstsicit. Her namo is Marion \Vcr--t, and sht> obtains drawings which arc of use to the secret service while out yachting with " Paul Zassulio. a young staff ofiicer. Ho proposes, and Marion accepts lum, although sh still continues to work against his country. Ab last she is discovered securing a plan of a fortress, and is only saved, by her lover s presence of mind. After many adventures they reach England,' and Marion renounces ' her .former ways,'after being freely forgiven by Paul when he finds that it was to keep a iittlo invalid brother that the girl had risked lite and honour. Tho supporting programme is i a very interesting one, including a "Wireless from the 'War'" cartoon, a Yitaoraph comedy, a hue Kalem drama the latest Keystone, featuring Mabel Normand,- and the latest number ot the Gaumont Graphic. A matinee will be held at 2.30 p.m. to-day. COUNTRY TOUR. Takaka and Motueka will both.be visited to-night.
