Ho^.itfka, June 11. Recently the WestJand.County Council sent an appreciative message through tne ..Defence. Office to General Godley, recognising the splendid work done by the Australasians at the Dardanelles. The following reply has b"een received by Mr Clifton, chairman of the Westland County Council:—"'On behalf of tho New Zealand Expeditionary Force and tho Westland men in particular, I thank you for your kind cable. The gallantry of the New Zealanders has been xinsurpassed.—iGodley, Tonedos, June Bth."
