; At the conclusion of the tournament 11 lie 'howlers assembled on the Nelson ' crreen, where valedictory speeches were made, Mr Ledger speaking for the visitors and Mr Stiles for the Nelson and Maitai Clubs. The local caretakers were handsomely rewarded for the work they had done in the preparation of the greens. Mr Graystone.. of tho Court Cards Company, "sang "Bute Britannia;" and received-a round-of applause. - The whole gathering then encircled ihe screen, nn3'sang "For Avid Lane Syne 71 and "God Save the King.'' and wound up the happiest of Easier gatherings, by cheering the King and Britain and her Allies.
