At a stormy Cabinet meeting the majority decided to negotiate with the Allied Commander-in-Chief, and :\sked the American Ambassador to as■artain the conditions for the surren■er of the Dardanelles and Constanti;ople. At xhe last moment General yon Sanders broke into the Cabinet and furiously expostulated. He threatened the instant arrest of the peace majority, and vowed to shoot any member communicating with the Allies. He bludgeoned the Government into submission.
