The ex 11 cement was great when a 1000 ft film of the departure of the main body .-f r.he New Zealand Expeditionary Force f:om Wellington was shown This features the troopships in readiness, the loading of guns and shipping of horses, the inspection of the troops at Newtowi Park by the Governor and farewell speeches, the march through Wellington to the ships, the embarkation and departure, and panoramic views of ?ne harbour, with the- ships lying out in the stream. ' These are pictures ivbioh should thrill all New Zealanders. This programme will be shown again tonight for the last time. Of the other items the- principal drama is a Kalem production entitled "Wire Chief's Reward." Jack, a wire chiefs is b(trothed't© Helen. He punishes Vance for attempting to flirt with her. Later Vance hears that the telephone onV'als are sending a large sum of monsj out of town. He plans to get rosaessio'i of the money. Jack, the wire chief, is on top of a pole on the • utsk'/cs of the town when he sees the auto in which are the special messengers held up by two highwaymen. Cutting into the line-, he sends word of what has happened. He^ mounts his motorcycle, and goes in pursuit. He gets ahead of the thieves, and secures the money.
