L'o'.isiantiTiople reports that the fortresses sank three mine-sweepers, which had not succeeded in clearing the outer minefields of the Dardanelles.
Expert engineers are ■working continuously to strengthen the defences.
The Vali of Smyrna has issued a proclamation that the garrison will defend tho city to the last drop of blood.
The "Cologne Gazette" says that Abdul Hamid's favourite son, Burhan Ed Din, has been strangled at Constantinople.
Reuter explains that this has a special significance owing to the Prince's pro-German sympathies.
