Th.^ Relieving Officer's report was dealt with. Belief was granted to a family where there >yere two children"; in the case of v family Fj .of. five children rations, were granted ; ''and in a third case 7s per week was allowed for rent. The report from the Alexandra Home was satisfactory. Twenty dozen eggs were supplied to the hospital during the month of September. Mr Griffin, architect, attended, and submitted the plan for the Nurses' Home. He said the, delay was not through any action of the- ..Board. Mr Bell moved, and Mr Simpson seconded, "That as soon as Mr Griffin signed the agreement to act as architect for the Nurses' Home, and tho plans and (specifications have been submitted to tho Health Department, a special meeting of the Board be held to consider the plans and specifications" The motion was earned unanimously. It was agreed to allow the City Council to have the services of Mr Coltman. Sanitary Inspector, fov two months. It was agreed to allow the contractor for the supply of bread $d per lb increase, owing to advance in the price of flour since the contract was entered into. ■:■■■■ A communication from the Department stated that if relief were given to families of prisoners of war, one half of tho 'amount so spent would be paid to the Board by the Department. i It was agreed to pay £1 per month towards the maintenance of some children in St. Andrew's Orphanage.,., The hospital" list showed 103 patients. 45 admitted during September, and 40 discharged.
