London, Oct. 7. Paris reports officially that there has been some progress in the Berry-au-bac district with co-operation of tho British.

There was a slight advance north of Soissons.

Between the Somme and the Oise there have been alternate advances and retirements.

The Germans attacked in strength near Lassigny, but failed. The front is extending more on the Allies' left, owing to a large mass of the enemy's cavalry and other forces moving tlrrough, the district north ot Roubaix.
