A RUSSIAN SUCCESS
The Prime Minister has received the following by cable from the High Commissioner :—
London, Oct. 5, 4.15 p.m. (Official.)
The battle of Augusto.vo ended ...on Saturday with a victory for the Russians. The German; dtefeat was complete. The enemy is now in disorderly retreat towards- the frontier of Prussia. The Russians are vigorously pursuing. On the left bank of the Vistula, and in Galicia, the situation is unchanged.
