Fire recently destroyed the town of Hearst, Northern Ontario, and 500 persons were homeless, after a battle with the flames lasting three days and nights.

St.. Winifred's Well, at Holyw^ll, in Flintshire, is once more alleged to •have-been tho sceno of "miraculous cures." A crippled girl of thirteen, an inmate of_ the Pantasaph Convent School, was dipped in the well. When she was lifted out of the water she said. "I think I can walk," and did so. Another girl is said to have been cured of- an affection of the eyes.
