A list of retirements of Territorials published in th© "Gazette" includes the names of Lieutenants R. A. R. Oldham and J. S. Rutherford, of the- 10th (Nelson) Mounted Rifles.

A cable message to the Sydney, "Sun" states that Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald, chairman of the British Parliamentary Labour Party, has been unwell for some months and that the condition of his health is causing anxiety.

A Press Association cable from Melbourne states that the New Zealand passengers by the Orama are: Messrs Isaacs, . Morgan, Bartlett, Whitebead and son, Bellugues and son, Colonna, Shearer, McQuaid, Houston, McLeish (4), Paul; Mesdamos Bartlott. Wrightson, Morgan, Whitehead, B; Hugues; Misses Holland, Wrigiiison (2), Whitehead, Bellugues, Whitmora, ani Taylor.

Our Murchison corresponded t states that Mrs Wiiiiam Lester, ai: old and greatly respected- resident of Alatakitaki, near Ivlurcbison, passed ivvay on Tuesday night. The deceased •ad been ailing for some considerable time, and the end was not unexpected- She leaves a widower and a grown-up family, who will have the. sympathy of a wide circle of fxiends.

Mr and Mrs F. H. Richmond and their daughter arrived in London from "Nelson by the Grama- Unfortunately, no sooner had they arrived than it was found necessary for both Mrs and Miss I Richmond to enter a private nursing home, where Mrs Richmond has already undergone a successful operation. It has also been found necessary for Miss Richmond to have an operation; in a few days. Mr Ricnmonri. in the meantime, is staying at the Strand I Palace Hotel.—"Dominion" correspondent.
