The Mansion House Fund totals '£24,000, and .the "Liverpool fund £13,758. General Booth cpaclucted a memorial service at the Albert Hall, the upper tiers being crowded and every seat on the floor occupied except chairs representing the Salvationist-; lost in the Empress of Ireland. Each chair was ornamented with the Army's white mourning badge, sur nourited by a crown. The Church of England and the Nonconformist churches were specially represented. The Qtteen sent a sympathetic message. Mrs. Kendall, wife of Captain Kendal, has gone to Canada. Professor John Welch, Professor of Naval Architecture at Durham University, and Commander F. Caborne have been appointed the British assessors in the Empress of Ireland inquiry, and will leave for Canada on Saturday. - .
