At the committee mooting of the Nelson Advancement Society on Monday evening Mr H. R. Duncan said he was prepared to hand to the secretary forthwith, the sum of £25 as his firm's [ (Dodson and Son) donation to the funds ', of the society. Mr Duncan's offer was loudly applauded by the meeting. It was also announced during the evening that Mr Saunders was prepared to devote the nett proceeds of .a picture entertainment at the Theatre Royal to the society. It was resolved that.Mr Saunders receive the heartiest thanks of .the society. On every hand there are indications that the people of Nelson are prepared ,to assist the society;, in a liberal manner Z and it is hoped by the committee that when » general meeting is called'it will be able-to', announce' haying-had: promised $ substantial;s,itm> upon Which td base the o^ratidJiß of thY "society. ~-
