- The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Limited, report hav«n« held their usua] Tapawera stock sale on Friday last, when they offered n heavy yarding of 2563 shep and a f<*w cattle. ' The quality of the §tock all through was very good a few culls), and the presence of •buyers from Blenheim, Christchurch, and the West-; Coast resulted in every i..c*n being sold under the hammer at prices uiuch in advance of owners' reserves. In one instance we obtained 4> Id above the owner's idea of value. Mr. H. S. Gainsford again topped the market for the second sale in succession

for,young sheep,-obtaining 15s 7d~for a line of 200 2-tooth ewes. Fat wethers sold on account of Messrs.'G. Bromell, Price Bros., M. Brady and Angusl Macpherson realised' 15s 7d, 16s ldj 15s 9d, and 17s 3d respectively.-1 Mr; f Alex .Drumihonci secured -12s"8d ~ for»-:line of 200 '4'antf s.;y|ar old ewes. It was the unanimous opinion that this. sale; both for prices' and " numbers yarded., was the best ever held in the district.
