NEW SOUTH WALES REGULATIONS

Regulations governing cinematograph shows are gazetted. They prohibit representations of scones suggesting immorality, indecency, executions, murders, and other rovolting sights; scenes of debauchery and low habits, and other scenes tending to demoralise the young ; and successful crime, such as bushranging, robberies, and other lawless acts, which are reasonably considered to have an injurious influence upon youthful minds.

Programmes must be submitted to the police for approval, accompanied by a synopsis of each item, and films must, if necessary, be screened for the information of the police. Pending tho decision of tho Minister the censor may require an exhibition to bo deferred.

Tho penalty for broaches of the regulations is fixed at a maximum of £20.
