STATEMENT BY MR TAFT.
(Received Nov 6, 10.50 p.m.) New York, Nov 6
Mr Woodrow Wilson, replying to congratulations, said the great cause had triumphed, find every Democrat and true Progressive of whatever alliance must now lend full force and enthusiasm to the fulfilment of the people's hope, namely, tho establishment of the peoplo's rights, so that justice and progress might go hand in hand.
Pennsylvania is almost equally divided among the three candidates, Mr. Wilson leading.
Mr Taft's statement that he would vote for Mr Roosevelt and the Socialist candidate is a warning ttiat their propaganda favouring fundamental changes iv representative government has formidable support.
Mr Tuft appeals to tho young men of tho country to rally to the defence of the constitution, which is now threatened.
