PRESENTATION TO H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND.

A movement has been started by the ladies' branch of the Timaru. centre of tho Navy League, to pres<int a Union Jack and White Ensign in silk to H.M.S. Now Zealmd, when she visits tho Dominion in December-or January next. The idea isthat the presentation' should com© from the "Women of New Zealand," arid efforts are bein^ made to spread the area from which; contributions may como over the whole of the Dominion. The various branches of the Navy League will act as local collectors, and oilers to assist in this way have been received irom Dunedin, !Chri«tchurch, Wellington and Auckland, so far. Subscriptions will not b© 'limited to any particular sum, butlthe smallest contribut-on will be as welcome as the largest, -information as to the^correct details of thejflags are being obtained from Lieut. Q. W. Seton, K.N., Mag Lieutenant to' H. E. Admiral Sir Goo. A bank account will be opened for the fund, and all subscriptions should be sent to the hon. secretary of the Navy League, Tiraaru centre, addressed to P.O. Box 53, Timaru.
