MRS. FREDERICK GIBLIN.
The death on Tuesday last of Mrs. Frederick Giblin, of Stoke' removed another of the very old settlers. Mrs. Giblin was born in Cambridgeshire, England, in 1829, and had thu6 attained the great age of S3 years, of which 61 wero spent in this district. Mrs. Giblin came to. Nelson by the ship Mariner in 1851, her husband, his mother,-and two brothers, Messrs. William and Daniel Giblin, being on the Bams vessel. Mr. and Mrs. Giblm made their home at Stoke, experiencing tho ups and downs incidental to early colonial life, and lived to see the younger generation carrying on tho work so well laid down by thei pioneers. Mr Giblin predeceased his wife by some twenty years. Yesterday, despite tin) inclement weathci, ther was a large attendance of relatives and friends when the mortal remains of tho deceased lady were laid at rest in St Barnabas' church yard, the service being conducted by the RO7. A. J. Carr in the church, of which Mrs. Giblin had been a consistent niember and faithful attendant. A family of three sons and two daughters mourn the loss of their mother, Messrs. Thomas'M., Frederick and David Giblin, Mrs. Eobt. Beat son (Blenheim), and Mrs. R. Keliing (Hope).
