ROAD BOARDS.

RIWAKA

The monthly meeting of the above Board was held on May. 2nd. Members present, the chairman (Mr E. W. James), Messrs A. Askew, Jno Rowling, T. Franklin and James Cook.

Messrs Geo. Deck, D. Fry, L. Everett and F. Moss waited on the Board to discuss the opening of road at Little Sydney.

Mr John Cook waited on the Board for the purpose of stating that a bridge situated on North Branch road was.unsafe for heavy traffic, and would like to see the structero adjusted.

Correspondence was received' as follows:—

From the Public Works Department re ferro-concrete culvert and desiring further information regarding re-in-forcement.

From the Post and Telegraph Department acknowledging letter to have teh> graph polo moved, and intimating that the matter will be attended to.

• From the Public Works Department, enclosing forms for grants for road works, etc., and stating that the forms bo filled in without delay.

From the Hospital and Charitable Aid office re conference on Local Government Bill.

From Mr G. M. Deck, Umikuri, requesting permission to erect swing gate. Resolutions were passed as follows: — That all accounts as presented be paid.

That the members meet at Little Sydney creek on Friday the 3rd inst, with power to act.

That the sum of. £1 7s be expended on the North Branch road.

That the Board bo represented by the Chairman at the conference of local bodies.

Cheques were signed for £21 8s 3d
