THE BISHOP OF TRURO
London, May 6 The Bishop of Truro is dead. <
Hie Rt Rev Charles William Stubbs, D.D., Bishop of Truro (since 1906), was born in Liverpool in 1845, and was the only son of Mr Charles Stubbs. Ho received his education at the Royal Institute School, Liverpool, and at Cambridge University. He was a Le Bas University prizeman, Cambridge, in 1868. The hon. fellowship of Sidney Sussex College was conferred upon him in 1904.■ From 1868 to 1871 he filled the position of senior curate of St. Mary's, Sheffield, and at subsequent points in his career was vicar of Grandboro' and Stokeham, rector of Wavertjee, and dean of Ely, holding the latter position till 1906. He was well known as an ecclesiastical author, and also wrote somo poems.
