Tho demands of the operative boot makers r^prp&er.t, it- is understood, an increaeo of wages to tho extent of about 18 per cent o;i th-e cost of labour. Negotiations so far have Jailed to bring about an agreement between the employers and employees, and the parties will thereforo meet in the Conciliation Council at Auckland on May 13th.
