The monthly meeting of 'the above Board was hold on Saturday last. The secretary (Mr J. Glen) took the chair, and announced that Messrs W. Coleman (Hope division), J. E. Bartlett , (Appl-eby division), and A. P. Allport (Stoke division), had been re-elected unopoacd. tor their respective divisions, a fact which Mr Glen referred to as evidence of the ratepayers baing satisfied with their representatives. All the members, with the exception of Mr A. G. Best, who was granted leave of absence, were present. 1 On the motion of Messrs Chisnall and John Best, Mr Colemaoi was re-elected chairman of the Board. Mr Coleman having taken the chair, business was proceeded with. The Overseer (Mr J. Glen) reported as follows: During the month the following works had been completed, clearing watercourse Golf road and repairing road Rawhiti street, Tahunanui, clearing out ditch Fairhall's road and culvert Clover road, Hope; carting stones for tideway embankment Bell's road, Appleby. He advised that the wntertablos in Palmer's road, Hope, bo cleared out and cutting on bank levelled; also the road entering the.riverbed be cut down and the spoil thrown to lower side of road. It would also be necessary to level stones on the road and cover with soil. Mr Englebrecht asked i for assistance in gravelling road from Marsden's to Parker's road, Stoke. The report was adopted. | It was resolved that the members for the district and Overseer wait upon Mr Englebrecht regarding road. Mrs Georgina Thomson, Tahunanui, wrote asking for ditch to bo cleared out fronting her section. It was resolved to refer the writer to the Waimoa County Council. The request of Mr H. J. Shirtliff, Stoke, to be allowed to remove tree and re-fencing was left in the hands of the members for the district and Overseer. An account was received for £1 from Mr Henry Thomas for acting as ranger. After discussion it was rosolved that tho account be not paid. It was mentioned that as all tho ditches in the Hope district had been cleared out it was necessary for the owners of properties through which creeks flowed to have tho beds of streams cleared to prevent overflows. Accounts amounting to £26 53 2d were passed for payment.
