DISSATISFACTION WITH LADY

SUPERINTENDENT

INQUIRY TO BE HELD

I United Press Association.]

Auckland, May C

Practically the whole of_ the certificated nursing staff have signed an ultimatum declining to continue under tho present lady superintendent. It is stated that if the protest is unavailing practically the whole eighty uncertiftcated nurses will join in what is tantamount to a general strike of the nursing staff. The chairman asked the protesting nurses to formulate their grievances, which will be submitted to the lady superintendent for a reply. Both statements I will come before the Board at its next meeting. Miss Griffiths, the lady superintendent,'"interviewed,' said that she was at a loss.-to understand the hostility of the nursing staff. She know Dr. Valintin© disapproved of her appointment, and the medical -committee had been antagonistic to certain matters of administration. She suggested that the nursing staff had been inspired to take the attitu de they had done. There were some small differeneos which were capable of adjustment"and-"'she expressed the hope that the Board would inquire fully irnto the administration of the institution as a whole.
