OBITUARY.

MRS. ANDREW RICHMOND

It is with deep regret wo have torecord the death of Mrs. Richmond, of Nile street East, who passed away on Saturday evening, aftor a long illness, borne with exemplary patience. Tfoedeeeased lady was well known for her charitable disposition. Many have- experienced great kindness at her hands, and she was over on the look ont for ways in which to assist those around, her. An appeal to help those in need.' was never in vain. She- has been associated for many years with the Cathedral parish, in the welfare of which she took a keen interest, and for a long t-im ( > she was a ,member of the Cathedral' choir. The de«oased lady will be greatly missed by a largo circle of friends., and wo desi'r© to express our sympathy with the members of her family in their great loss. The late Mrs. Richmond arrived in Nelson with her parents, the late Captain and Mrs. IJkmdell, on Christmas Day in the years 1851, and lived in the brick house in Bridge\ street on the Wood side of Normanby bridge for some time. The house is still in existence. The family later on removed to their new homo at Staplegrove, at Waimea West, where the Blundejl family resided for many years. In 1856 Mrs. Richmond was married to -the late Mr. A. J.. Richmond, son of the late Major Richmond, and after a brief residence at Richmond Brook, in Marlborongh, she came back to Nelson, and resided at "The Cliffs," at tlie Port, until twelve years ago, when she took up her residence in Nile street. East, and lived, there continuously up to the time of hep death. The deceased lady leaves three daughters, and one- son, namely, Mrs. Sclanders, Mis-s Richmond, Mrs. Kissling, and Mr. F. H. Richmond. .

Tlie funeral will leave her late residence on Wednesday morning at halfpast ton for the Cathedral.
