At the Royal Show Mr F. W. Fairey, butcher, of Nelson, won the first award and the championship in the fat ox class. His animal, which was also champion ox of the show, weighed 23651b5.

The championship in the thoroughbred stallion class went to Sir Aymer.

Tho following are other New Zealand awards : Sheep, English Leicesters, ram two years or over, Mr Nixon (Canterbury), first and champion; under two years, Mr Nixon first. Ewes, over two years, Mr Nixon second; under two years, Mr Nixon second.
