Wellington, April 1 The pity engineer has reported upon the present condition of the city watersupply. He says that the duplication of fcho Wainui-o-mata main is an extremely urgent matter, for until th<> work is completed a great risk of a failure of the city supply exists. A =ci ions break in the Wainui-o-mata main would throw the whole ■ work on theKarori reservoir, which with the stream now running would soon be depicted. The- new Karori reservoir is" now practically empty, while the water in. the old reservoir is about twelve feefc below the overflow level. On this accomit every effort |h to be made to complete the duplication by the end of the year.
