APPROVAL OF TOE CABINET.

Mr. J. ltobartson M.P., for Otaki, when interviewed here, laughingly said he supposed that lie must get into line* as he noticed all the Labour members were bring foreol into print since tlm new Ministry was announced. He considered it certainly the most radical Ministry ever formed in New Zealand. "While those already on the land could fwsl assured from the personnel of tho Cabinet that the farmers' interests would 1)0 promoted, the masses had good reason to believe that problems such as the cost of living, and the improvement of the machinery for the settlement of _ industrial disput-es would be tackled with earnestness. On the whole the now Cabinet had as good a, chance of carrying <;n as any Cabinet could have in the present state of parties. The Opposition's criticisms of Mr Mackenzie's Cabinet- would apply with even greater force to any possible Opposition Cabinet, lor of necessity such a combination would comprise untried men. Mr. Robertson did not think it. advisable that Labour should have a* Mat,in the Cabinet this time. On con-, eluding, he said he had seen an interview with Mr. Paynr\ M.P. telegraphed' from Napier regarding Mr Payne's determination to vote against the Mackenzie Cabinet, and to support Mr. Massey conditional on. Labour beinggiven Ministerial representation. Mr. Robertson doubted the statement, andsaid from what he knew of Mr. Payne's views he was inrliiud to think that Mr. Payne had been misrepresented.
