A fire- broke out in tho convent of St Claire at La Puy. In order to keep tho rule forbidding mon to enter, tlio nuns barricaded tho burning building against the firemen arid police. Seven aged nuns were found in an unconscious state when tho polico battered clown the door and rescued them with difficulty.
