■j On Wednesday^: June 14th, a'very pretty and popular'wedding took place in the Dbvedale Methodist Church, when Mr. Clement M., Burnett; third son of Mr. Thomas Burnett, of Dovedale, was joined in matrimony to Miss Ada-B. \Vin, second daughter of Mr. J. W; Wiii, also, of Dovedale.1 The cfereiriony was performed by the circuit "minister, in the presence' of a large congregation of friends and well-wish? i ers. Tho church was very prettily decorated by the young friends for'the festive occasion, thus indicating the popularity of the contracting couple. Punctually at 2..30 the bride arrived at the church on the «rm of her father, charmingly attired in a dress of cream radianta, trimmed with all-over lace and silk braid, wearing tho usual wreath and veil, and carrying a beautiful boquet of white chrysanthemums and heath. As she entered the building the congregation rose, and led by Miss Thorne, church organist, sang a hymn. Sliss SI. Burnett, also prettily attired in a dress of cream radianta trimmed with all-over lace and silk trimmings, and heliotrope hat, carry--ing a boquet of white and heliotrope cosmcas and chrysanthemums, acted as bridesmaid. .Two little girls in navy, blue, with white caps, and carrying' baskets of flowers, lent charm to the scene. Sir. Ernest Burnett acted as best man. When the ceremony was over the newly married couple drove off from the church amidst a perfect storm of rice and good wishes. The wedding breakfast took place at the residence of the bride's parents, where happy-hours were spent. The good things provided were greatly enjoyed. The usual toasts were duly' honoured and many heartfelt good'wishes expressed. Tho party was kept up till a lite hour. A valuable gold Kruger brooch was the gift of the bridegroom to the bride, whilst the bridesmaid" was tho recepient of a set of seven initial hat pins. Presents, numerous and valuable, were given to the .young couple, and included a cheque for £5 The bridegroom also received a beautiful Bible, a gift of the teachers of the.Sunday School, whilst tho bride was the happy rocipient of a silver vase, the gift of her Sunday school mates. The newly married couple left to spend their honeymoon. The. bride's •travelling dress was a dark green coat and skirt, with hat to match.
