MAN'S RIGHT HAND INJURED.

A very serious accident happened at Sir. H. Tunnicliffe's saw mill in Dovedale on Thursday-afternoon, writes our Wai-iti correspondent. Mr. F. W. Tunnicliffe, head henchman- and acting manager, had the misfortune to get his right hand caught by a saw attached to the travelling bench, resulting iv injuries that necessitated the amputation of three fingers. The injured man was conveyed with all speed to his home at Upper Wakefield ,a distance of Some 15 miles. Drs. W. 11. and W. H. Pearless attended and operated at onco. The lingers were s» bad'.y injured that it was found impossible to save thorn. The sufferer lias the sympathy of all in his severe misfortune. He has been employed at this class of work for many years. Tills is the first accident he has encountered at his work. The unfortunate occurrence seems to havo been purely accidental, no blame being attachable.to anyone.
