Dne of the most violent blow outs ever experienced on the Taraiiaki oil field occurred to-day, when mud and oil were thrown fully fifty feet ftfe6v& No 3 derrick from a flepth of 3680 feet* the derrick itself being 60 feet high. This is -regarded as distinctly encouraging, and a justification of tho company's policy in continuing the bore to a greater depts. At N,o 2 oil still flows freely. •"'. ,
